Open Mic / Open Stage night at Latitude 44

Gerry Grooms and Jack Rollins are providing a great venue for performers to meet, perform, and listen to other performers and for audiences to enjoy a really wide variety of local music. Just show up on any Wednesday night and let them know that you'd like to perform and they'll add you to the line-up. It's on a first come / first performing basis with no preferences given and no auditions required. So show up early, sign up, kick back and enjoy a beer or a glass of wine while listening to a wide variety of great professional and amateur music!!!

Lat 44 has an 8 channel sound system setup on stage with mics for vocals & instruments and they typically even have an acoustic guitar with a pickup in it available for those folks who don't like to bring their guitars out in cold weather!

From an Argus Leader article by Jay Kirschenmann: "Ed Johnson's musical partner Michelle Martin says the open stage is always a fun event, even though musicians make no money. 'It's a work of passion,' she says. 'It's wonderful because when it's working you get such a variety of people, and a variety of styles and tunes.' Johnson says it's a good time to try the open stage concept because of all the talented musicians in the region. 'I've been anxious to do this in Sioux Falls for awhile now,' he says, 'I've been a player all my life, but the open stage concept is close to my soul. I hope people come out and keep it going.'"

Please help support their effort by stopping by on Wednesday nights between 7 - 11 pm!!!!
