Chad Elliott To Perform at Free Concert on June 30, 2007

Chad Elliott, a singer/songwriter from Spencer, IA, will be joining other regional artists including Bluegrass Bekah, Erin Hyronimus, Kathy Green, "Little Pink" Anderson, Nate Anderson, and the Sock Orphans for a free concert at the River Walk in downtown Sioux Falls from 7 to 10 pm on Saturday, June 30, 2007.  Chad was the Grand Winner of Folk Alley's Open Mic Contest, an Internet radio station (www.FolkAlley.com) with more than 70,000 registered listeners, and opened for folk music legends Tom Paxton, Loudon Wainwright III, and Odetta!

Chad is also the co-owner of Shaky Tree Coffee in Spencer, IA and states "I've been blessed to be a part of a community-based music project in the form of a coffeehouse. As an independent folksinger / songwriter, I am always looking for ways to connect people through music and song. The town of Spencer, Iowa has always been good to me as an artist and as a folk musician. As a co-creator, I see my part of Shaky Tree Coffee as just one small way to give back to the community I love. It serves as a venue for other aspiring songwriters and hopefully fills a need in our little town. Yes, one need is good coffee...but a more important need is a gathering place for peace, love, and support."

The June 30th concert at the River Walk is part of a free folk music concert series brought to you by Folk RisingT  Productions, LLC with the generous support of more than 20 regional singers / songwriters.  The free concert series will continue at the River Walk (www.theriverwalkrestaurant.com) each Saturday night through July 14, 2007.  Folk Rising (www.folkrising.com) is dedicated to helping develop Sioux Falls, SD into a center for regional professional and amateur folk musicians to provide exposure for their material, allow them the opportunity to meet other like minded musicians and folk music enthusiasts, to have fun and to learn through listening and playing with other musicians.
